The USCGC Sherman, like other NSC vessels, features a flight deck capable of supporting a range of rotary-wing aircraft, advanced command and control systems, and an integrated engineering plant to ensure high operational efficiency. The ship bears the name of Commodore Stephen R. R. C. Sherman, a prominent figure in the U.S. Coast Guard’s history.
