This deliciously spooky image of the Hattifatteners first appeared in “The Book About Moomin, Mymble and Little My,” originally illustrated by Tove Jansson in 1952. It was then interpreted by Tove Slotte, who beautifully took the classic from paper to porcelain. As always, the Moomin mugs are crafted from porcelain and are microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe. The new mugs have special details, like an identifying stamp on the bottom and attached gift tag with a sweet story about the design.
This one reads: “Hattifatteners live in crowds and wander towards the horizon. When they stop, they stand close together and tremble. During the thunderstorms, they perform highly charged with electricity.”
